ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Member-at-Large: Development & Fundraising Lead is VLL's primary catalyst for fundraising and community outreach at the board level. This role requires someone who knows the Cape Fear philanthropic landscape, is energized by donor cultivation, and is ready to model what board-level fundraising looks like for the rest of the board.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Lead and coordinate board-level fundraising campaigns
Identify, cultivate, and steward individual donors
Find grant opportunities and connect the Executive Director to funders
Model and coach 'the ask' for fellow board members
Act as an active community ambassador for VLL
Support planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Established relationships with local and regional funders
Comfortable making and coaching others to make the ask
Energized by donor cultivation and community engagement
A natural storyteller and community ambassador
Has lived and worked in New Hanover County for at least 5-10 years
